Thanks to your support we built Phase 1 of the Forest Lake Area Trail System and are putting the finishing touches on Phase 3.1, which runs west from Osteopathy and parallel to Missouri Street for .7 miles.

While the bulk of the funding for Phase 3.1 comes from a $147,000 Recreational Trails Program grant that FLATS was awarded in Fall 2016, FLATS still needs to raise additional matching funds to complete this section.

We’re also raising funds to develop the FLATS-Theta Psi Trailhead on the southwest corner of Osteopathy and Missouri. This land was donated for this purpose by Theta Psi and Alta Planning, a national trail design firm, developed the concept plan we will use when constructing the trail head amenities.

All donors will be thanked on this website and receive a free FLATS sticker for their car or bike.

As of August 2016, FLATS is a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit public charity with donations tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. Previously, the Kirksville Rotary Charitable Fund acted as our nonprofit fiscal sponsor. We couldn’t have done it without them.

100% of all donations will support the construction, promotion, planning, and maintenance of trails in Adair County.
